Screen Requirements
Here is a summary of the key pages required by the user flow, their current status, and the "ChainAlign Magic" we aim to deliver with each one.
1. Personalized Home Screen
Status: Built (V1) Summary: This is the role-based landing page for every user. Based on the user's role (e.g., Demand Planner, Orchestrator, Finance Partner), it presents their most urgent tasks and a feed of relevant intelligence. We have strong V1 implementations of this with PlannerDashboard.jsx, OrchestratorDashboard.jsx, FinancePartnerDashboard.jsx, etc., all routed through HomeScreen.jsx. ChainAlign Magic: The magic here is proactive guidance. Instead of a generic portal, the user is immediately told what their single most important task is (e.g., "Pending: Q4 Demand Review Submission") and given AI-surfaced insights relevant to that task, eliminating guesswork and focusing their attention. MVP Enhancement: The home screen will be enhanced with a summary widget of the current cycle's strategic objectives and a feed of RAG-surfaced industry insights relevant to the upcoming S&OP meeting.
2. Performance-to-Plan Dashboard
Status: Built (V1) Summary: This is the page that kicks off every S&OP cycle. It automatically compares the previous cycle's locked plan against actual results to drive accountability and learning. The PerformanceToPlanDashboard.jsx is an excellent V1 of this, featuring the waterfall chart, KPIs, and insights. ChainAlign Magic: The magic is the AI-generated narrative. The dashboard doesn't just show data; it tells a story. The "Action Title" (e.g., "Margin Eroded by $105k...") and the diagnostic insights (e.g., "Negative Bias in Demand Forecast...") immediately explain the "so what" of the data, turning a reporting exercise into a root-cause analysis session. MVP Enhancement: For each performance gap identified, the dashboard will show the impact on strategic objectives. The RAG system will provide industry context to explain why these gaps are significant (e.g., "This service level drop is a typical Q4 capacity constraint pattern seen across the CPG industry").
3. Data Review Workbench
Status: To Be Built Summary: This is a critical screen for the asynchronous "Prepare" phase. It's a dynamic workspace that is automatically configured based on the user's function (e.g., Supply, Commercial, Finance, HR). It presents the user with fresh, read-only data from their relevant source systems. The view is intelligently curated to highlight data points that have changed significantly since the last cycle, new data that has come in, and data that is directly relevant to the company's current strategic objectives. Users can't change the source data, but they can add annotations to provide context. ChainAlign Magic: The magic is proactive, guided analysis. Instead of just showing a static data table, the workbench acts as an intelligent co-pilot. It directs the user's attention to what matters most by automatically surfacing what's new, what's changed, and what's strategically relevant. This transforms a tedious data validation task into a focused, high-value review session, ensuring that the user's expertise is applied to the most critical issues.
4. Ad-Hoc Scenario Workbench
Status: Partially Built Summary: This is a sandbox environment where planners and managers can model different "what-if" scenarios outside of the live S&OP meeting flow. They can create and save scenarios (e.g., "Authorize Overtime," "Activate Secondary Supplier") to prepare for the reconciliation meeting. This is the "What-If Workbench" that teams can use to proactively look at decisions and their impact. ChainAlign Magic: The magic is proactive solution modeling. Instead of reacting to problems in a live meeting, teams can come prepared with multiple, pre-vetted, and fully-costed solutions. Saved scenarios can be instantly loaded into the live "Supply Reconciliation Workbench" for side-by-side comparison, dramatically accelerating the decision-making process.
5. Demand Consensus Workbench
Status: To Be Built Summary: This is the interactive workspace for the live Demand Review meeting. It visualizes the statistical baseline, the sales forecast, and allows the team to collaboratively adjust a final "Consensus Unconstrained Plan" line on a chart. ChainAlign Magic: The magic is the "Consensus Lock-In Protocol." After the collaborative adjustment, the facilitator uses a formal protocol to "lock" the plan. This action requires them to type in the rationale for the consensus, creating a permanent, auditable record of the decision and preventing future debates about why a number was chosen.
6. Supply Reconciliation Workbench
Status: Partially Built Summary: This is the workspace for the Supply Review meeting. It visualizes the "gap" between the locked demand plan and the unconstrained supply forecast. The team uses interactive levers to model scenarios and create a "Balanced Operations Plan." The existing WhatIfWorkbenchPage.jsx and ScenarioWorkbench.jsx are great starting points for this. ChainAlign Magic: The magic is the financially-aware levers. When a user adjusts a lever (e.g., "Authorize 25% Overtime"), the workbench doesn't just show the operational impact; it instantly calculates and displays the financial impact (e.g., "+$890K in COGS," "-0.7% Gross Margin"), ensuring every operational decision is financially grounded. MVP Enhancement: This workbench will be enhanced to include strategic alignment scoring for each scenario. The RAG system will act as a co-pilot, suggesting proven scenarios based on the identified gaps and industry patterns, complete with historical success rates (e.g., "Scenario: Expedite from Europe - 78% success rate for similar situations").
7. Strategic Decision "Live Slide"
Status: Partially Built (Static Mockup exists) Summary: This is the ultimate executive dashboard for the final S&OP meeting, designed to follow the "10-second rule." It summarizes the recommended plan, its probabilistic risks, and its financial impact. The chainalign_dashboard_mockup.html is a perfect static blueprint for this. ChainAlign Magic: The magic is the "Executive Override" with live re-simulation. An executive can adjust a high-level strategic lever (e.g., "Increase Safety Stock Target"). The dashboard instantly runs a new Monte Carlo simulation and displays a side-by-side comparison of the original plan vs. the new scenario, showing the full trade-off in risk, margin, and working capital. This transforms a passive review into an interactive, strategic "war room." MVP Enhancement: The interactive version will visualize the trade-offs between different strategic objectives. The RAG system will provide contextual benchmarks and industry implications for executive decisions (e.g., "This level of investment is 23% below the industry median for similar revenue protection scenarios").
8. S&OP Pre-Read Package
Status: To Be Built Summary: This is a read-only, interactive briefing book that is automatically assembled and sent to all participants after the "Prepare" phase is complete. It summarizes the plan and allows attendees to add questions and comments asynchronously before the live meeting. ChainAlign Magic: The magic is the auto-generated agenda. The "shared questions" that executives and managers add to the pre-read package automatically populate the agenda for the live meeting. This ensures the meeting starts by immediately addressing the leadership team's most pressing concerns.
Admin Pages (Customer-Facing)
9. Strategic Objectives Page
Status: Partially Built Summary: A page for defining, tracking, and managing the company's high-level strategic objectives (e.g., Increase EBITDA Margin, Reduce Working Capital). This page allows admins to set targets, weights, and visibility for each objective, which then informs the "Goal Alignment Indicator" during S&OP meetings. ChainAlign Magic: Connects high-level corporate strategy directly to tactical S&OP decisions, ensuring every choice is measured against its impact on the company's most important goals.
10. User Management Page
Status: To Be Built Summary: A standard user administration page where organization admins can invite new users, remove users, and assign roles (e.g., Functional Manager, Executive Leader, Orchestrator). This is where the permissions that drive the role-based home screens and access levels are managed. ChainAlign Magic: Simple, clear role assignments that automatically tailor the entire ChainAlign experience for each user, reducing complexity and ensuring people only see what's relevant to them.
11. Data Governance & Health Page
Status: To Be Built Summary: A dashboard that provides a detailed, field-level inventory of all the organization's integrated data. It displays the "Data Health Score" from the AI backend, including freshness, completeness, and consistency metrics for each data source. ChainAlign Magic: Transforms data quality from a hidden IT problem into a transparent, measurable business metric. It provides actionable diagnostics to pinpoint and fix data issues at the source, building trust in every decision.
12. S&OP Cycle Configuration Page
Status: To Be Built Summary: The control panel for the organization's S&OP process. Here, admins can define which functional reviews are "mandatory" for a cycle to proceed, set deadlines for the "Prepare" phase, and manage meeting participants. ChainAlign Magic: Provides the flexibility to adapt the ChainAlign workflow to the company's specific S&OP maturity and culture, ensuring the tool supports their process, not the other way around.
13. Security & Compliance Page
Status: To Be Built Summary: A central hub for managing security settings. Admins can configure SSO, enforce MFA, set data retention policies, and export audit logs for compliance purposes (e.g., SOX). ChainAlign Magic: Makes enterprise-grade compliance a self-service feature, dramatically simplifying audits and giving security teams confidence in the platform from day one.
14. API & Integration Status Page
Status: To Be Built Summary: A self-service page where a customer's admin can view their active API keys, see their usage logs (e.g., calls made, error rates), and monitor the health of their specific integrations with ChainAlign. ChainAlign Magic: Builds trust through radical transparency, empowering customer IT teams to self-diagnose issues and monitor their own data flow into the platform.
